BMSD 2026 Last Chance: Genesis Win the Final Match to Reach the Grand Finals, Defending Champions OG Out

Genesis Esports started the last match of the BMSD 2026 Last Chance in seventh place, 15 points behind a Grand Finals spot. They won it. Fourteen finishes and 10 position points added up to 24 points in one game, which lifted them to third on 95 and into the finale.
MYTH Official (119), Welt Esports (99), Genesis (95) and Wyld Fangs (90) took the four places. Elite Nova and Team Tamilas also finished on 90 and missed out. OG, the defending champions, finished ninth on 79, 11 points short.
I told the story of that last match in our Instagram reel: watch it here. The written version is below.
The stage
The Last Chance ran on 12 and 13 October at the Savaaya Convention in Hyderabad. Sixteen teams, those placed 9th to 24th in the Semi Finals, played 12 matches, six a day. The top four went to the Grand Finals and the other 12 were eliminated.
How it got there
After Day 1, the top four were MYTH (70), Elite Nova (61), Wyld Fangs (60) and Team Tamilas (57). Welt (44), OG (43) and Genesis (40) were outside. Welt and Genesis then scored 55 points each on Day 2, against 49 for MYTH, and that is how the table got tight.
Going into the last match, it looked like this:
Going into the last match, it looked like this:
| Rank | Team | Total |
|---|---|---|
| ๐ฅ1 | MYTH | 112 |
| ๐ฅ2 | Welt | 95 |
| ๐ฅ3 | Elite Nova | 87 |
| 4 | Wyld Fangs | 86 |
| 5 | Team Tamilas | 86 |
| 6 | OG | 78 |
| 7 | Genesis | 71 |
Wyld Fangs held fourth over Team Tamilas because they had two chicken dinners to Tamilas's one. Genesis were the only team in the top seven without a chicken dinner.
How the last match played out
I still can't believe it. OG, the defending champions, a team that has played internationally, are out of BMSD 2026. If you like cinema, you won't find a better story. Some teams left happy and some left gutted, and all of it came down to one game.
Before it started, only four teams could qualify. Genesis were seventh, OG were outside the places, and Elite Nova looked as though they would get through in the last match.
OG went out first. The defending champions, gone, and it was the biggest shock of the day. Team Tamilas had Aim God One get four finishes, and even that wasn't enough. They were eliminated too.
Wyld Fangs still hadn't qualified, with almost 86 points. Genesis had slipped on the table. It felt like both teams were finished.
Then Elite Nova, who looked safe, got sandwiched and went out of the match. Wyld Fangs and Genesis ended up in a fight, and it decided a lot. If Wyld Fangs won it, they would have qualified. They didn't. Wyld Fangs went out, and Genesis, sixth on the live table at that point, were still fighting.
Genesis came through, took the chicken dinner and qualified for the Grand Finals. On the final table they finished third. Elite Nova, Team Tamilas, Vasista and a lot of others were out.
That is Hunter of Genesis, one of the most decorated players in the scene right now, and that is his comeback. All of these teams are heading to the Grand Finals, and it is going to be a very dangerous lobby.
Three teams on 90, one seat
Three teams on 90, one seat
| Team | Chicken dinners | Finish points | Position points | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wyld Fangs | 2 | 48 | 42 | 90 |
| Elite Nova | 1 | 55 | 35 | 90 |
| Team Tamilas | 1 | 67 | 23 | 90 |
Team Tamilas had the most finish points of the three, and their 67 was the third-highest in the stage behind MYTH and Genesis on 71 each. The fourth seat still went to Wyld Fangs because they had one more chicken dinner.
Vasista Esports (+18) and Team AX (+13) had the next-biggest hauls in the last match, but both started too far back and finished seventh and eighth.
OG's exit
OG were sixth on 43 after Day 1 and scored 35 in the first five matches of Day 2, taking them to 78, within eight points of fourth. One point in the last match left them on 79, ninth overall and level with Team AX in eighth. They are the defending champions of the Showdown, and the Last Chance ended their run.
