The confirmation came from KRAFTON India, following the BGMI social media teaser that read "BGMI LITE, Coming Soon." This is the first time KRAFTON has attached a real launch window to it.
What KRAFTON Actually Said
KRAFTON describes BGMI Lite as "the next chapter in the evolution of the BGMI experience," saying it will make the BGMI experience accessible to an even wider community of players across the country. Feature details and gameplay specifics are being held back for closer to launch.
What's confirmed: a release window inside 2026. What isn't: system requirements, file size, feature parity with the full game, or whether it borrows directly from the PUBG Mobile Lite blueprint that came before it.
Why the Timing Lands Differently This Time
BGMI Lite has been requested since the game's earliest days in India, largely for the same reason PUBG Mobile Lite mattered before it: not every player has a phone that can run the full battle royale experience without lag, heat, or storage problems. Lite versions solve that by design, and BGMI's predecessor proved there was a massive audience for exactly that trade-off.
