PMWC 2026 Recap: S2G Esports Crowned World Champions
S2G Esports are the PMWC 2026 World Champions.
After 18 matches, three days of competition, four teams simultaneously capable of ending the tournament, and a final day that kept refusing to finish, S2G Esports lifted the PUBG Mobile World Cup trophy with 154 points. They finished five points ahead of Nongshim RedForce, with Aurora Gaming completing the podium in third. eArena, who spent much of the final day at the top of the standings, ended up fourth.
The final table only tells part of the story. The tournament went from GodLike Esports' breakthrough on Day 2 to a final day where the Smash Rule completely changed the championship race.

S2G Esports Are the PMWC 2026 Champions
S2G finished with 154 points across 18 matches, three WWCDs, 65 placement points and 89 elimination points.
Their three Chicken Dinners matched Nongshim RedForce for the most in the Grand Finals. However, S2G's 65 placement points gave them the crucial advantage, finishing 18 points ahead of Nongshim in placement scoring. Nongshim made up ground with 102 elimination points, but still finished five points behind overall.

A Championship That Took Two Misses to Close Out
S2G reached Match Point eligibility with matches still left to play. Twice, they had the chance to end it. Twice, another team took the Chicken Dinner away from them.
The first came in Match 16, when S2G had four players alive deep into the game and looked ready to close out the championship. Aurora Gaming won that match instead, jumping to 140 points and becoming Match Point Eligible themselves.
The second came in Match 17, when AlUla Club Esports took the WWCD with 22 points while S2G finished second with 15.
By Match 18, it didn't matter anymore.
Tianba won the final game, but Tianba were not Match Point Eligible. S2G's 154 points were already enough to secure first place in the final standings.
The tournament was over the moment Match 18 ended, without S2G needing to win the final match.
What the Smash Rule Actually Did to This Final
Under a normal format, the team leading the standings after the final match wins the tournament.
The Smash Rule changed that.
A team first had to cross the required points threshold and become Match Point Eligible. Once eligible, that team still needed to win a Chicken Dinner to end the tournament.
That created an increasingly chaotic final day.
At one point, four teams were simultaneously capable of ending the tournament with a single WWCD: Nongshim RedForce, Aurora Gaming, S2G Esports and eArena.
Every Chicken Dinner suddenly had championship consequences.
If an eligible team won, the tournament was over.
If another team won, the Grand Finals continued.
That tension carried all the way into Match 18.
Match 15: Tianba Keep the Tournament Alive
Tianba were one of the teams that repeatedly disrupted the championship race during the final day.
They won Match 15 with 26 points, collecting 10 placement points and 16 elimination points.
The result prevented the Match Point-eligible teams from closing out the tournament and pushed Tianba further up the overall standings.
Their late surge became even more important later in the day, as Tianba would return to win the final match of the Grand Finals.
Match 16: Aurora Deny S2G
Match 16 became one of the biggest moments of PMWC 2026.
S2G entered the match already Match Point Eligible at 132 points. They didn't need to reach another score. They needed only one Chicken Dinner.
Deep into the game, S2G had four players alive and looked capable of finally ending the tournament.
Aurora Gaming had other plans.
Aurora won Match 16 with 25 points, collecting 10 placement points and 15 elimination points.
That result pushed Aurora to 140 points and made them Match Point Eligible.
S2G finished the match with seven points.
The championship remained alive.
Match 17: AlUla Deny S2G Again
S2G got another opportunity in Match 17.
They finished second with 15 points, but once again, another team claimed the Chicken Dinner.
AlUla Club Esports won Match 17 with 22 points, collecting 10 placement points and 12 elimination points.
eArena and Team Vitality finished third and fourth with 10 points each.

The tournament was now down to its final match.
Match 18: Tianba Win the Final Game, S2G Win the World Cup
The final match produced one last twist.
Tianba won Match 18 with 20 points, securing their second Chicken Dinner of the final day.
But Tianba were not Match Point Eligible.
That meant their victory did not trigger the Smash Rule.
S2G did not need to win.
They didn't even need to add points.
Their total remained at 154, and when the final match ended, S2G Esports were officially crowned the PMWC 2026 World Champions.
Nongshim RedForce added two points to finish on 149, while Aurora Gaming picked up six to close the tournament at 146.
Individual Awards: Qzz Takes Grand Finals MVP
S2G lifted the trophy, but the Grand Finals MVP award went elsewhere.
Tianba's Qzz was named the PMWC 2026 Grand Finals MVP, finishing the tournament with 35 eliminations, 6,731 damage, 32 knockouts and 50:54 of survival time.
Qzz was one of the standout individual performers of the Grand Finals and helped Tianba finish fifth overall with 125 points.

Aurora Gaming's DOK was named Best IGL, while eArena players Morman and TernyK claimed the Field Medic and Eagle Eye awards.
For India, GodLike Esports' Spower won the Grenade Master award with nine grenade eliminations.
Spower Gives India Its Signature Moment
GodLike Esports never entered the championship race, but Spower produced one of the defining moments of India's PMWC campaign.
His 1v4 clutch against Team Vitality became a major highlight during the Grand Finals and showed the individual firepower GodLike could bring against the world's best teams.
Spower also finished the tournament with the Grenade Master award, recording nine grenade eliminations.
GodLike ultimately finished 13th with 84 points and one WWCD.
Indian Teams' Final Finish
India had two representatives in the PMWC 2026 Grand Finals.
GodLike Esports finished 13th with 84 points, recording one WWCD, 18 placement points and 66 elimination points.
Orangutan finished 15th with 76 points, ending the tournament without a Chicken Dinner.

Neither Indian team entered the championship race on the final day, but Spower's individual performances gave Indian fans a major highlight to take away from the tournament.
The Teams That Shaped PMWC 2026
Nongshim RedForce finished second with 149 points and recorded the highest elimination total in the tournament at 102. Their three WWCDs matched S2G, but they ultimately fell five points short of the championship.
Aurora Gaming produced one of the biggest turning points of the final day by winning Match 16. That Chicken Dinner pushed them into Match Point contention and eventually helped them secure third place with 146 points.
eArena spent much of Day 3 around the top of the standings and also became Match Point Eligible. They finished fourth with 140 points after failing to convert their eligibility into a WWCD.
Tianba were another major part of the final-day story. They won Match 15 and Match 18, finished fifth overall with 125 points, and had their player Qzz take home the Grand Finals MVP award.
PMWC 2026 Final Takeaway
PMWC 2026 was never simply about who could build the biggest lead.
The Smash Rule made teams earn the points threshold and then earn the Chicken Dinner needed to finish the tournament. That created a final day where four teams could eventually end the World Cup, while every other team still had the power to keep the tournament alive by taking a WWCD.
S2G Esports came closest to ending the tournament several times.
They missed in Match 16.
They missed again in Match 17.
Then Tianba won Match 18, but because they were not Match Point Eligible, the final Chicken Dinner could not change the championship.
S2G had survived the chaos.
Three WWCDs. 154 points. 18 matches.
