PUBG Heads to Netflix for Live-Action Series Adaptation

KRAFTON is developing a live-action television series based on PUBG in partnership with Netflix, marking a new direction for the battle royale franchise. Announced on October 30, 2026, the project will see Atlanta creator Donald Glover handle writing, directing, executive producing, and acting responsibilities.
His brother, Stephen Glover, will join him as a writer and executive producer.
The adaptation will have to establish its own storyline, as PUBG does not feature an official story mode or a central narrative campaign.
The Team Behind PUBG's Netflix Series
The project has several executive producers representing different production companies:
- Michael Schaefer: Representing NEON TV, where he serves as chief content officer. NEON is known for films including Parasite and Anora.
- Fam Udeorji: Representing Gilga.
- Taeseok Jang and Sujin Lee: Representing LV3H, KRAFTON's entertainment division.
The Glover brothers have previously worked on Swarm, Guava Island, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
KRAFTON's Entertainment Push
KRAFTON will work through LV3H to develop and produce the series.
The division was established to build an original entertainment portfolio for international streaming audiences. KRAFTON also highlights PUBG's position as a global gaming property, citing its seven Guinness World Records.
No release window, casting details beyond the announced creative team, production schedule, or storyline have been confirmed for PUBG.
For KRAFTON, the adaptation is another attempt to extend a recognized gaming property into entertainment. However, its success will depend on whether the series can establish an identity beyond the franchise's existing player base.
