BGMI 4.6 Update Confirmed for September 16: Midnight Hunters Brings Vampires to Erangel
KRAFTON India has confirmed that the BGMI 4.6 update will arrive on September 16, 2026, bringing Midnight Hunters as its headline theme mode. The supernatural mode transforms familiar parts of Erangel with vampires, hunters, new encounters, themed items and a new gameplay dynamic that can see players cross to the other side of the hunt.
Midnight Hunters will be available from September 16 to November 16, giving players two months to explore its new mechanics and locations. Ocean Odyssey will also return to Erangel on September 30 and run alongside the new supernatural theme mode.
BGMI 4.6 Update: What's New in Midnight Hunters?
Midnight Hunters keeps Erangel's familiar geography but changes how several locations and encounters work. Four major areas will become Vampire Takeover POIs, while a new Hunter Guild and other interactive locations add more objectives to the map.
The updated locations include:
- Rozhok
- Mylta
- Quarry
- Gatka
These locations will be rebuilt with a darker atmosphere and connected to a new mission set.
Meanwhile, Stalber and Sosnovka Military Base will become the Nightkeeper's Hunter Guild. The location serves as a large indoor combat arena, with secrets hidden among its tables, bookshelves and murals.
Players will also find a shooting range designed for hunter training, while a clock tower can stun nearby creatures when it is shot.
Another new feature is the Scream Crates. Players must decrypt these crates before they can be opened. Failing the decryption gives away the player's position through the resulting sound, potentially attracting nearby threats.
Players Can Cross to the Other Side of the Hunt
One of the biggest changes coming with Midnight Hunters is a new gameplay dynamic that BGMI has not offered before.
KRAFTON India has confirmed that players will be able to cross to the other side of the hunt. Doing so gives them a new appearance and a new set of abilities, creating a different way to approach the closing stages of a match.
KRAFTON India has not revealed the complete mechanics yet, meaning more details about this feature are expected ahead of the BGMI 4.6 launch.
Vampires and New Creatures Arrive in Erangel
Midnight Hunters introduces several supernatural threats across the map.
Bloodwalkers hunt players on foot, while Nightbats attack from the air using sonic waves. At the top of this supernatural hierarchy is the Vampire Elder, an ancient bloodline ruler that becomes stronger as the creatures connected to it survive for longer.
Players also encounter the Nightkeeper, an NPC located at the Hunter Guild. The Nightkeeper provides lore and materials before eventually giving players an opportunity to challenge him directly.
New BGMI 4.6 Items
The Midnight Hunters mode also adds three themed items designed to give players new ways to survive and move around Erangel.
Hunter Bandage
The Hunter Bandage provides rapid recovery, giving players a faster way to heal during encounters.
Silvermoon Chain
The Silvermoon Chain has multiple uses. It can be used as a weapon against creatures, a grappling line for moving across terrain and a defensive shield.
Twilight Bat Wings
The Twilight Bat Wings unlock flight, giving players a completely new way to travel across the battleground.

The ability to cross to the other side of the hunt could be the most significant addition, as it gives players another way to approach a match beyond the traditional loot, survive and reach the final circle loop.
